A time Value in FileMaker is internally stored as the number of seconds since Midnight.
If you add 3600 * 1.5, there are 3600 seconds to an hour, you will add the number of seconds equal to one and a half hours.
Thank you for your quick answer!
When I use
I get "6430"
and when I use
I get "1", but I want Filemaker to return 12:00PM (since the value of Table::VisitTime is 10:30AM)
I think I'm almost there, but I'm just not sure what I am doing wrong?
It works for me. Make sure that VisitTime is declared in Manage database as a field of type time.
The data viewer is returning the value in 24 hour format so you may need to do additional work to get it into 12 hour format if this part of a calculation in the body of an email or something. A calculation field on a layout, on the other hand can simply have a 12 hour time format specified for it in the inspector.
thank you, it returns "12" now! If I want it to return "12:00 PM" in the body of the email, do I need to use the formula here: Formatting times in a text calculation | FileMaker
Or is there an easier way?
Looks like it, but I'd use the Let function to break up the calculation into easier to work with "chunks".
