Are all clients using the same version of FileMaker Pro 14? Verify the client is using FileMaker Pro 14.0.6.
Does the client (not the server) have port 443 blocked?

Have you tried a complete reinstallation of FileMaker Pro 14.0.6 on the machine?

The client with the problem is 14.0.6. Others on that same version (as well as one 14.0.4) work as expected.
I've verified that the problem client has no firewall turned on. I'll look to see if there could be any other blocking of port 443.
We've not tried reinstalling FileMaker 14; could you provide an installer download link please?
We'll also try opening the database as you suggest, by specifying its network path.
