    FM GO  15 v 16 URL Action

Product and version (FM 16, FM Go 15 and FM Go 16, FMS 16)

      OS and version Various OSX

Browser and version (for WebDirect only)

      Hardware iPads various

I am using the following to open a file and pass a parameter to a script.

      fmp://webdirect:xxxxxx@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xxxxx_Web.fmp12?script=Startup&param=username:password <fmp://webdirect:xxxxxx@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xxxxx_Web.fmp12?script=Startup&param=username:password>

This works perfectly in FMGO 15 and when used within the network with a local ip address it also works with FM Go 16.

It returns an 802 (Unable to open file)  error when used externally with FM Go 16.

Note the Allow URLS to perform FileMaker scripts extended privilege has been clicked in all related files.

Also no script is set under File Options.

External URL must be OK as it works in FM GO 15.

      FM Go is 16.02.

Perhaps there is but cannot find a document setting out behaviour differences between FM GO 15 and 16.

      How to replicate

I am happy to provide a functioning url.

      Workaround (if any)

      Use FM Go 15.

          Thank you for your post.

If the URL extended privilege is active in the file, then our Development and Testing departments would like to see the file.  I have sent you a private message with instructions where to send a copy of the file, or you can provide the [Full Access] credentials and server information to access the file.

I get the same 802 error from FileMaker Go 16.  When I try to open the hosted "web" file on the server, I do not have [Full Access] credentials, so I am unable to check the privilege sets.

Did it work for 15? Will send admin password later.

                Yes, it worked for 15.

I tried opening the "web" file using the recent information, but it still will not open.  If I do not enter credentials, then it opens to an account that does not have [Full Access] privileges.

Like a lot of issues obvious once found.

Go 16 does not always seem to present permitted hosts dialog when you are logging onto a system. One clicked of course everything works fine. Until then all you get is an 802 error.

                  FM Go 15 just works.

There really should be better error reporting or a dialog box telling you that you have provided permission.
