Opening Record When User Clicks on Marker in Google Maps

I am working on a system that allows the user to search for open work orders, click on a button to open a google map with pins showing where each work order is located and then the user and click on the pin to open that specific asset record to see if there are other work orders pending for the same location.  I've gotten all the way to the point where the pins are on the map.  I execute the following javascript in a web page to display the map.

            /*Set the marker properties*/

            marker = new google.maps.Marker({

          position: uluru,

          map: map,

     title:  assetpoint[0],

     url:  "fmp://$/Water_Distribution_UI_Tech.fmp.12?script=Open_Hydrant_Record_From_Map&param=" + assetpoint[0]

Here's where I get stuck.  I know that I need to add a listener, but don't know what object or method to use to call the fmp url.  Anyone done this before?
