This issue happens randomly and has been a known issue for several years. I have been on the forum before with others and no one seems to have found a work around. Sometimes FileMaker will not crash, and other times it will. It is not just occuring when inserting a PDF in a container file, it will also crash when simply pulling up the display of the container with the PDF in it. However, inexplicably, and without consistency, FileMaker will start working fine and not crash for a few hours. There are times it will crash over and over again, and other times it will stay up. My guess is that it has something to do with cache, but I've tried adjusting cache and it did not help either.
This is a huge productivity hit for my business, and causes me to think about having to bail out on FileMaker Pro, as much as I love it, and rewrite my entire database and program in Access, or something else.
PLEASE work on fixing this. Feel free to use me as a tester. Keep us informed on the issue.
