Dear All, I am working on a library database which requires to search a book online using ISBN (international Standard book Number) and then retrieve the Bibliographical information from Google Books or From Amazon to the relevant fields in my database.
Interesting. Using a micro-service, from FileMaker I did a lookup to the Open Library database using ISBN. If Google has a REST interface (I'd be surprised if not), then you could do the same thing.
FMP < --- > MICROSERVICE < --- > REST API
The Open Library (in this case, proxy) I wrote also custom modified the JSON returned from the Open Library API and returned it to FMP.
Let me know if this sounds plausible for your situation.
I'm using FMPA 14.

Note that using INSERT FROM URL may be all you need by itself. That approach may be more/less work depending on your requirements.
