Filemaker Pro Advanced (v15 and v16) stopped recognizing shortcuts

This has occurred in the past 10 days, and didn't change when I upgraded to version 16. Filemaker Pro Advanced (Mac)  does not respond to any shortcuts (cmd-N, cmd-D, cmd-L, etc. None of them) This is only an issue on one machine. I assume that some other app decided to abduct them, but I don't know which. Grammarian was recently installed, so I uninstalled it. No change.

Anyone have this issue in the past? I tried going to System Preferences and resetting shortcuts to default, but no change.
