Problem with "larger than" calculation

Hello all

OS X 10.12.6

Using these values

$h = 113

$j = 48

The calculation  ( $h > $j ) returns 0

If I change the calculation to ( $h < $j ) it returns 1

The calculation 113 > 48 returns 1

If I change this calculation to 113 < 48 it returns 0

First when I created this calculation it worked perfectly.

After a while it started misbehaving in the above manner.

It happens both in a script as well as in the data viewer.

It also happens with a totally new file containing two tables, 5 fields, one relation and two scripts.

It happens whether I'm referring to a field in the local table as well as when I'm referencing a field in a field inside a portal.

It also happens when I open the same file in FM 16.

I'm sending two images as attachments.

Can anyone tell me what might be going on?
