I am trying to do a search for tomorrows date within the perform find option, I can find todays date by typing //, I need to do it here as I have attached it to a button and I want it is a single step rather than a script
Use a script step and Set Field to Get(CurrentDate) + 1 so that the script step should look like
Set Field ( YourField ; Get(CurrentDate ) + 1 )
I need to be able to do this in a single step, my single step has to have a perform find action in this to find other criteria as well, so I need to somehow do this within it, I know will // will find todays date, is there no variance on this that I can use?
I just gave you a single step
Are the other criteria scripted or entered by the user?
// is just used to find todays day . With scripts steps you can pretty much do any kind of search
The other criteria need to appear in this same find under one step, these are not entered by the user, on the perform find page if it accepted //+1 then I would be fine. Is there anyway of entering other information in this box, I notice that if you try and use get(currentdate) in this box some of it changes colour, so I presume filemaker can accept other instructions in here too
You do not enter Get(CurrentDate) to a field, you use Set Field and have a button
Set a variable to Get ( CurrentDate ) + 1 and use the variable in your Perform Find
What is your "Single Step"?
If you want it to be
Perform Find ( Restore )
with that Edit Find Request dialog, then no.
You can, however, use $variable or $$variable in that request. But because that must be "set" somehow, you might as well make the find a scripted (not restored) find:
Enter Find mode
Set Field ....
