Suddenly I have a problem with the web access via Instant Web Publisher. Users receive the message that the page is not found. I use port 591. OS is Windows 10.
does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?
Instant web had lost on FM13. Which version do you use?
It looks web server is working, so check the files for the IWP.
For the webdatabase I still use FM 12 (the base database is FM15). New info: logging in with the url within my wifi network fails, but with the numeric url it is successful. But from outside my network (by users or via 4G of my own iPhone) the numeric url also fails...
With "numeric" you mean just using the IP address instead of a DNS name?
IP addresses are going to be different inside the LAN than outside. From the outside you'd have to hit the external IP address as assigned by your ISP, your router then needs to have the right port(s) open and forward traffic on those ports to the internal IP or DNS name of your FileMaker Server.
If you were using a DNS name before then the DNS name has to be routable from the outside. In the sense that if I type it into my browser, my DNS server needs to recognize it and find its matching IP address and send the traffic there. Here too, internally working DNS names may not work from the outside.
So: can you a be bit more specific in what used to work and what does not? Obviously if it used to work and now it does not then something has changed, and DNS would be a good place to start looking.
what used to work was the DNS name with port 591 defined. That worked for outside users, and for me within my network. since a few days, suddenly the DNS name stopped working, no IWP login page could be found anymore. It stopped working for outside users and for myself with my LAN network. Within my LAN, the url works, but not "from the outside". On the other hand, FM Go still works (using port 3000 i think)
FM Go uses the same port as FMP: 5003.
So the issue could be any of these:
- the DNS has been reconfigured to not resolve properly. Easy enough to test by pinging the DNS name and seeing what IP address comes back
- the firewall has been closed for port 591
- the router is not forwarding the traffic on port 591 to the correct internal resource.
FileMaker Server 12 does not support windows 10.

In case you are using FM Server 15, it does not support it either. Even if you get the database server working, the necessary hooks to IIS to enable web publishing may not work, which sounds like the case.
pinging does not recognize both options
coincidentally, I get a new router installed tomorrow..... I will ask to technician set the DNS correctly.
I have FM 12 advanced
And it worked flawlessly since I installed Windows 10
