Can we listen to the "Done" button/keyboard stroke on a mobile keyboard?

I have a mobile phone layout. In it is a (global) date input field to find records - appointments on that day.

When tapping into the date field, I get the iOS date picker - no problem with that.

Now, after choosing another date and hitting "Done" (in screenshot "Gereed"), is there a way to capture this event & do the actual searching?

I've logged all keystrokes, both objectKeystrokes and layoutKeystrokes, but none seem to capture the "Done" thingie.

I've read a lot of stuff here - no real solution.

Anyone found a good fix for this - better than ignoring it?
