BE_FileMakerSQL OUTPUT Clause

I'm using the base element plugin and trying to return the ID of a record just created using BE_FileMakerSQL and an insert statement.  Documentation for the plugin is limited but it appears that the plugin attempts to use the same clauses that FileMaker uses with ExecuteSQL, of which OUTPUT is listed. The insert statement without the OUTPUT clause works as expected but breaks with the clause.  Example code is below.

"INSERT INTO POLineItems ( IDPurchaseOrders ) OUTPUT INSERTED.ID Values( '" & $ParamIDPO & "' )"

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
