I am using the Save as PDF script step in a couple of databases. It works great, except when the user has a Chromebook. I assume that the problem has something to do with the directory structure. Anyone have any ideas?
what version of FMS are you using ? FMS 16 is the first one that let you save as PDF. On top of that a Chromebook is a differenr beast, is it in list of supported devices ?
We are using FMS 16. I have been waiting for this for a long time. I love it, but not having it work on Chromebooks is a bummer.
It's the "may work but not tested" platform. But it would have latest version of Chrome browser that supported (55 or later).
Client browser does only download a PDF. Does the browser silently download files to default location, like as desktop browser?
The Browser version is 61, so shouldn't be an issue. My thought is that FileMaker via WebDirect is having trouble finding where to save the file. When I do this on a Mac, there is a dialog window with a button saying that the PDF is ready to download. The user then clicks and the file downloads to the default download location with a filename that is a variable based on the content of the PDF. On the Chromebook, the dialog doesn't appear.
