Hosted Insert into Container fails when Scheduled Backup Runs

Question asked by JEDtech on Oct 3, 2017

Product and version: FileMaker Pro 16.0.2, FileMaker Server 16.0.2

OS and version: macOS 10.12.6 for client with FileMaker Pro, Mac OS X 10.11.6 for FMS

Hardware: FMP on Late 2014 MacBook Pro; FMS on 2009 Mac Pro

Description

A script was invoked that does an Insert into Container via a calculated path variable.  The file being inserted was an XML file of about 18 MB.  At the same time the insert was happening there was a backup script that was running on the server.  The insertion never completed, FileMaker Pro just sat for 30 minutes with the "Inserting..." modal dialog box.  I had to force-quit FileMaker Pro.  Both the FMP and FMS machines were on the same 1000T local network.

How to replicate

Would have to try inserting into a container while a backup script was backing up the database being inserted into.

Workaround (if any)

After force-quitting FMP was able to get back into database and re-run the script with no problem.
