I am lost to the logic of trying to have a different calculation field for each different record. I have a file of Vendors. Each vendor calculates a rebate differently. So I'd like to have a calculation field that is different for each vendor in a table. I've played around with having a relationship to the vendor with a table that is related by vendor id, but can't seem to make that work.

Example;

Vendor #1 has a calculation field that = (field 1 - field 2) * field 3

Vendor #2 has a calculation field that = (field 1 + field 4) * field 3

Vendor #3 has a calculation field that = field 5

.... and on for about 130 different ways of calculating a rebate

Using Mac on FileMaker 15

Thanks in advance for any help!

Research the evaluate function. You can store the calculation you would ordinarily enter into a calculation dialog as text in a text field that you then use with evaluate to compute a value. This would allow you to enter a different formula for each vendor in that text field.
