Check list for dealing with crashing (FMPA16)?

Not sure when it started -- maybe a week or two ago -- but FileMaker Pro Advanced 16.0.3 crashes on me now perhaps a couple times a day. I'm pretty sure this has happened only on my 15-inch mid-2015 retina MacBook Pro (running High Sierra) and not on my 2017 iMac (also running High Sierra) or my Dell XPS15 (running Windows 10). I open FMPA16 on this machine many times a day so most of my work sessions end normally. Still, it's an annoyance and worse, a concern. The databases I'm working on are all hosted.

I think the crashes most often occur right after I attempt to enter layout mode. But I'm not sure. I've started making notes but don't see a pattern yet.

Given those facts above I'm guessing problem's source is on my MacBook Pro. But I'm not sure where to look or what to do. I usually restart computer after each crash (although I'm not really sure that's necessary or useful). Any suggestions on what to do? Should I reinstall? I recall reading in past that fonts could be a problem. Is that still true and how would I check? What about other odd files (plists or whatever)? Maybe I'm running some other app on this machine that FMPA16 has a problem with?
