Record Locking / Record Not-Searchable in same table, different privileges

Hi guys,

So I am asked to figure out a solution where users are to lock customer and related customer records, furthermore the records must not be searchable, although the records are placed in the same table.

I have a single database.

Multiple users, but with different privileges. (Employee Privilege Set / Partner Privilege Set )

For the matter of ease I strongly advised to implement both Employee AND Partner customers into the same database / table.

The database consists of a lot of modules, both privilege sets are able to create/edit/delete/search in this (might have to change this).

Now this brew the question; "Is it possible to lock and make Employee Privilege Set customers not-searchable, even though Employee AND Partner Customer are located in the same table and vice versa (this includes all the modules as well)."

Well, Is this possible in an easy way without me editing multiple fields, I was thinking about a global locking field, but please advice?

I am concerned about Maintenance, Security and potentiel Performance Issues.

P.S. Please yell if you need elaboration.
