I have a server on AWS that is fairly busy. The FMSE ( FileMaker Script Engine ) crashes regularly and I think I know why but I want to just get a 2nd opinion.
The application in question saves reports to the servers "documents" folder, a system script every so often uploads those reports to an FTP and then deletes the reports. I think that the script engine crashes when these two things attempt to touch the same file at the same time, e.g. a file is being saved to the server at the same time as the system script is trying to delete said file.
I have edited the system script so that won't happen again.
I really don't want the FMSE to crash again. Do you think that would be the issue, or is this something that others have come across and have found a differing solution (e.g. re-install FMServer) to fix the problem?
Just note that when the script engine crashes no PSOS or server side scripts run until I use the command line to restart it. fmsadmin restart FMSE
