How to feed number of copies ?
How to automatically tell (without the intervention of the user) FM the number of copies to be printed ?
By roll, you mean that you have a single column of labels and print them one at a time?
This would appear to just be a case where you create one temporary label record for each that you need to print, then print them. The labels should print in the order that they were created unless you sort them.
If it is always the same number of copies, you can specify the number of copies in the print step. If the number of copies is not always the same, you can print one copy at a time in a loop.
Plug -ins may be used to dynamically specify the number of copies.
Other options may also be possible depending on exactly what you are printing.
if you use MBS FileMaker Plugin, you can use the PrintDialog functions on Mac or Printer.Print function on Windows to control the printing and pass the number of copies you need. See PrintDialog.SetCopies.
I am printing a batch of different labels on a roll. Each label type is instantiated from its own layout and then corresponds to one record in a temporary table used for printing only. One field in each record holds the number of copies for this label type. I get the number of copies for each label type from the customer order. The printing sequence on the roll goes like this : x label type1, y label type2, z label type3, etc.
How can I feed dynamically x,y,z (which may be all different) to my script without using a plugin ?
Good thinking, I will implement that. Merci beaucoup.
