I am using Windows 10 and it does not allow you to use the Help feature in FileMaker Pro. Thanks
it's not a pw feature, it's a privilege set. There is a default [read only] privilege set or you can make your own. Then you assign an account to the priv set and that account will only have read-only access.
Thanks for your reply, however it does not answer my question. I am new to FM and do not understand it well yet. I am using FM Pro 5. Under File I have "Access Privileges". In there I have Passwords; Groups and Overview. I am trying to use a passwords to restrict access to Browse Records, Print Records and Export Records. As stated in Windows 10 you cannot access the Help feature in the product.
You are using an extremely old version of FileMaker. Current version is 16 just for reference.
In your version "group" is closest to what we now call a "privilege set".
Don't really recall that far back to know if there is anything you can do in your version to change this or not. Can you access help when using a full access password? This might even be incompatibility between your much newer OS and this very old version of FileMaker.
Documentation on FileMaker 5 is available on this page:
Choose the appropriate version and download.
The "FileMaker Pro 5 User's Guide" is likely the one you need.
Thanks very much Beverly
