Filemaker 16 is still not usable for quick edit in Table View.
What that means, is having navigation keys (left/right/up/down), fields within different records selection (at the same time) and copy/paste into those several records at the same time.
That is the reason why I haven't been able to switch from Microsoft Access.
Still in Filemaker 16 as was the case in previous versions, that is just not possible.
You can't paste a set of column values in Table view, because that would go into several records at the same time, and Filemaker does not support that.
It is however a Major Flaw of Filemaker to not allow that, and is a show-stopper preventing me from switching to Filemaker.
In addition to the 3 views, adding a Table-Edit view, which allows the above, which means:
1) left/right/up/down navigation within the table when in the table view
2) selecting, and copying from or into multiple fields within multiple records - like a 2x3 cell grid
That's about it. A user interface should have allowed for the above since the beginning. Microsoft Access always has. It's just an obvious, very useful way of inputting/changing/exporting data through the clipboard.
