Exit Loop of Value is Greater Than

In my scripts, I am exiting loops if a counter value is greater than a count.   (I like it this way. )

But.. whenever I try to do

Exit Loop If [ $count > $numOf Dogs ]

The loop only goes through the first instance and does not keep going.  The greater than doesn't seem to work even though I am correctly incrementing my $count variable. ( I have checked multiple times in the Data Viewer.)

When I use

Exit Loop If [ $count = $numOfDogs ]

Then the loop continues correctly and ends correctly.

Is there something weird with the > symbol?  I'd rather have it greater than... though I can use equals if I must.  Just wondering what I'm missing. Been searching about his issue and haven't found my answer, so thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

Cynthia
