I can setup the initial row that a portal display in the portal setup window, but...
There is a way by script that I can setup the initial row of a table that I want the portal to display ?
Can you explain what you want in more detail and why? Only Related Records can be shown in a portal. Of those related records, the first record could be the first record in that group or the first record as determined by either a sort order set on the portal or the relationship.
I use a layout where i want to display the fields in a particular order. I use this to help me to create the menu of the day and see the position of the plate on the buffet table.
Today i have to create the plates in the order that i want to display, but if i want to change the position of the a plate, i have to delete all fields and recreate in the new order.
I have set the graphical position of the fields that are in a portal to display, row 1, row 2, etc....
If i can change the portal initial row by script i can reorder graphically the layout.
You can put a number field for the menu order in your portal’s table and sort portal by this field. Then you can edit the value in this field to change its menu position.
I use your suggestion I a different way. Setup a number field and use the filter criteria in the portal, so I can do the sort in the graphical area and not to need to do sequencial.
