Where to put my databases on an OSX FM server 16?

According to

https://www.filemaker.com/help/15/fms/en/index.html#page/fms/fmsh_hostdb.06.5.html

My two databases should be in /Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Databases/

When installed, there is one sample database. It's in that folder, but in its own sub-folder:

Databases <- folder

    Sample <folder

          FMServer_Sample.fmp12 <- sample database

          RC_Data_FMS <- another folder

I have two databases. Should I just stick them directly under .../Databases/ like the FileMaker docs say? Or should I make a sub-folder for them? If I make a sub-folder should it be one sub-folder for both databases or two separate sub-folders?

Note: The reason I'm uploading them manually via SFTP is to save time and bandwidth. The larger of the two databases is 7 GB, but only 1.2 GB compressed.

Thanks,
