My preferences - (see attachment) - seem to be set so that all my edits are saved during idle time.
However, as far as I can tell, nothing is saved until I flush cache using a script, or exit the software. Doesn't idle mean whenever the filemaker, or computer isn't active?? Should I set it to flush every 15 minutes to avoid a computer crash loosing a days worth of work?
While I am at it, I find filemaker to be slow at times, especially if it wasn't used within the hour...should I try different memory settings? What if the computer is primarily used for Filemaker, versus occasionally used for Filemaker.
Thanks in advance
PS I am using Filemaker Pro 14 on the host computer (I do access the files via remote as well) and Filemaker 15 Pro Advanced on the remote
