I did the Win 10 Pro update this am, taking the OS version to 16299.125. Upon completion, FMPA 16 would not run (the process started, hangs at some point before any windows opened). I tried uninstalling/reinstalling without success.
We’ve just updated to 16299.192 without any apparent problems.
Any info in Event Viewer?
I've also updated to 16299.192 and I have not had any issues with the current or with prior updates and running FMPA16.
FM Pro Advanced 14.0.6 starting hanging up as you describe shortly after the New Year. Will not function. It's happening on an HP laptop, only 6 weeks old, a 64-bit type, running 64-bit FMP. But Window's Settings calls the OS "1709" and the update identifiers begin with the letters KB. Wrote a discussion item to TSPidgeon about it.
The Windows 10 Pro Version number is 1709 the OS build number is 16299.192 Settings>System>About
I have FMPA 13,14,15 and 16 and each runs fine.
Do you have any plug-in ?
Not that I know of.
The first problem of FM not opening happened around the Jan 4 update. Prior to that, FM was working fine. Definitely no plugins were added recently.
The second problem is that deletion and reinstallation of FM (14.0.6 in my case) didn't fix the problem. Whether 32 or 64 bit FM versions. I followed TSPidgeons's recommendations and also disabled the internet and antivirus software.
I'm about ready to take the step to reinstall system software. That will erase all apps and require me to reconfigure Outlook. A big deal. so I am awaiting a response from TSP who's reading my system info file.
I think the problem might have been that my computer went to sleep, or I shut the laptop lid making it sleep, while Windows was auto-updating the computer unbeknownst to me. I believe I saw that an update was taking place when computer awoke or went to sleep.
So the problem may lay in the OS, not the FM sw. Makes sense since I've been getting replies that their FM is still working after the same updates that I received.
My computer is just 6 weeks old and doubt there's a hw problem.
