Hello, how might one set up a monthly report separated by weeks? I need to have a report with total hours per week grouped by month.
What does the data you want to put into that report look like?
What does each record represent? One day? Part of a day? A specific transaction on a specific day?
Does your week start on Sunday?
Does each record have a field of type date to use for grouping?
If you have a date field, you can use a calculation field, let's call it cWeek, that takes the date and computes the date for Sunday of the same date. You don't have to show this field, but you can sort on it to group records by week.
DateField - DayOfWeek ( DateField ) + 1
You can then perform a find for all records for a specified month and sort your records by cWeek. If you set up a sub summary part "when sorted by cWeek", you can add a sub head and also a sub foot for each group of records from the same week and put summary fields into such parts to show sub totals (or averages or counts or....) based on just the records grouped with that sub summary part. This can then give you weekly totals and the like.
Sorry...I don’t know why I didn’t give more info
i am am working on a solution that tracks hours worked with a client.
Each client gets a set number of hours per week(I.e. Tom Brady-15 hours per week)
I bill for clients on days that staff work with them (i.e
Monday 12/3/17- 8 hours
Tuesday 12/4/17-7 hours)
i also have to make sure that at the end of the week the client has received all their hours for the week.
So so my report needs:
week of 12/1/17 to 12/7/17-15 hours (green color for hours met for the week)
What I have described can do this.
To get one row of data per week, keep the sub summary part that I described, but remove the body layout part.
OK I think I did everything you suggested. However, I keep getting dates
from the prior month. See attach.....
