Thought this would be easy, but I'm missing something. Want to use popover to edit a record in list view. It brings up the record, but can't do anything with it. Placed Open Record/Request on the OnObjectEnter. Script debugger says record missing.
Fields in a popover must be from the current context or a related context, so if you can't edit it, it is likely that the record doesn't exist or there's no relationship between the context of the layout and the fields in the popover.
Card windows removed the context dependency of popovers by being a window of a completely different context. That's amazing, but if you have 'downgrade' card windows to popovers, you have to consider again the context.
Is this a contiuation of
drop list shows ?
jbrown has been helping you on that and may have already noticed!
No, we got that resolved. Am trying to design a solution for the iPad which can only handle FM Go 15. So am having to get rid of my Card windows to add/edit records and thought the Popovers would be a good solution. However, (been on this for hours this morning), can't find a way to edit or add a new record from a Popover without a lot of scripting. Is this the case?
That's what I kind of figures, but here's the graph of the context. Based on selector table and trying to edit a JOBS_Hours record. Maybe this type relationship won't suffice???
Having a dickens of a time figuring out FM GO and displays. Card windows seemed fine in FM GO 16, but without them, can't get layouts to display properly on the iPad.
Are you opening it as a card window? This looks like a document window.
Do you still have a question about this? If not, we can mark one of the answers as correct. I'm going thru outstanding ones and closing them out or making sure they get answered.
Yes. Have this going now. Your answer helped get me back in to looking from perspective of Context. Thanks.
