How can I freeze part of the layout so when I scroll it down I can see the part I freeze in the top.
I need to freeze the orange part of the top of the layout in the picture above.
If you are using FileMaker 16, you might look at Top Navigation Part:
Appears at the top of every screen and can contain buttons or other controls to help users navigate the layout. The top navigation part cannot be scrolled or zoomed in or out, and this part does not print or display in Preview mode. Fields added to a top navigation part use data from the current record. You can have only one top navigation part on a layout.
Please specify if you are using another version of FileMaker Pro, what layout view type (Form, List, Table) you are willing to use. There may be options but knowing the version will get you better answers!
I know that, but i have create my particular navigation bar, because i don't want the user to have access to some particular controls when in the kiosk mode.
Thats why i want to know if is possible to freeze a part of the layout .
You haven't posted a screen shot of your layout in Layout Mode, so it's difficult to know what you have. You said, "my particular navigation bar". Is that within the Body part, the Header part, Top Navigation, ??? IF you place it within the part called "Top Navigation" then it will FREEZE as the rest of the layout scrolls (up/down & right/left).
But that is for FileMaker 16. You also did not specify the version of FileMaker Pro that you are using to create/use the layout. FileMaker 16 will be required to use this new Part type.
Please reply with:
1. version(s) of FileMaker that will create or view this "kiosk mode".
2. are you creating a RunTime or just Kiosk mode?
3. post a screen shot of your layout (in Layout mode)
I believe the Top Navigation became a feature in FileMaker Pro 14.
Thank you Roy! I haven't check back versions, but Top Navigation is indeed in FMPro/A 14!!

Thanks for your reply. I transfer the navigation bar to Top navigation bar.
But I have find a problem. Since I made the layout in the size of A4 paper so is easer to adjust the printer for me, and I have set at the loading of the filemaker database a adjust window size to 200% to be more easer to look the fields. But for my surprise when I do the 200% zoom adjust the top navigation layout don't scale with the body part of the layout.
Best regards André
Create separate layouts for screen and print, don't try to make one that works on all.
The Header part responds to zoom, but it only pins to the top of the window in list view.
The Top Navigation part does NOT zoom, yes, one of it's features. Do what Vaughan say, Make a Print layout and an "Entry" layout with the Top Navigation.
You could use a header for what you want but there is a trick to make it work properly. Use list view and set the record you are working on to be the only active record. This will keep the header at the top of the page and you will be able to use zoom.
