Does FileMaker keep a file of member's ID and Password's ?
For this forum login or for something else? Are you needing License Keys for a product, perhaps?
In many web sites for informational etc. type companies, if you forget your Password or ID, you can enter your e-mail address, said company will send a code number to another device as in Cell Phone to help security issues. You then type that number into blocks that are on the machine you are requesting from. They will then give you an address to access so you can enter a new Password.
Did I explain that well enough?
Thank you for your post!
I think beverly was asking what specifically are you trying to recover the Account Name and Password for.
The FileMaker Community Account can be recovered at Forgot Username and Community Password can be recovered at Reset your Password.
If you are talking about your FileMaker Database File, there is no default recovery method. If you change an Account Name or Password, you would need to know it. If you can access the file with a Full Access account you could also modify other Accounts. FileMaker, Inc. never stores an Account Name or Password entered into a Database File.
Please let me know if you are referring to something else.
