How to display a tab name

Finally upgraded from FileMaker 6 to 16 and I am trying to get accustomed to all the updates.  I've moved most of my layouts to the tab format.  I've given my tabs an object name via the inspector and I would like to hide a button (Inspector Option) on a couple of the tabs.  I've read other posts and tried using script triggers (OnPanelSwitch), setting variables and using the GetValue (Get(TriggerTargetPanel) and trying the ActiveLayoutObjectName function but have had no luck.  Could someone please provide an example on how to simply hide a button from a tab named "Events"?

Thank you for your time.
