Benefits of SSD vs Splitting OS from Data

Hi,

Assuming I have a machine with one SSD and two 7200rpm HDDs and don't want to buy anymore hardware, what do you think would give the best performance:

  1. Both OS and Data on SSD
  2. OS on SSD and Data on HDD
  3. OS on HDD and data on SSD

I'm trying to determine whether the benefits of SSD outweigh the benefits of separating OS from the data.

Thanks,

Jeff
