I've been on Bento 4.1.1 for a long time- looking to move to FMP. I downloaded a Bento to Filemaker Tool that just keeps crashing on me- won't even open. Any suggestions?
Has helped out a number of people making this move. The migration tool no longer works with current versions of FileMaker, but she's been able to help out all the same.
TSGal is very helpful with this.
Welcome to FileMaker. You'll find the platform to be full-featured. I think it has a different perspective than Bento–I never used that product–but it is worth your time to learn.
Ask questions here or at NewToFileMaker and we'll help out the best we can.
Also check out the Announcing: Custom App Academy space. And the Free FileMaker Training Series: Advanced for FileMaker 15 (a version old, but the concepts are the same)
Thank you for your post.
The Bento Migration Tool will not run properly under newer Mac operating systems.
Please send in your Bento database file, and I will migrate the file for you into a FileMaker Pro database file. I have sent you a private message with instructions where to send your Bento file.
Like other users, I have a large Bento database on a Mac that I want to migrate to filemaker. I looked for the migration tool, but it doesn't even seem to be there anymore. In any event, I understand from reading this thread that it wouldn't work on my more recent MacOS High Sierra 10.13.5.
Can you let me know if you are still helping users convert by sending you the database, and if so, what to send you?
PS. I received someone else's (barand) reply by mistake. I think our two respective answers got switched, so I'm asking my question again.....
I can migrate your Bento database to a FileMaker database. I have sent you a private message with instructions where to send your Bento database (or backup) file.
