My FileMaker Pro version 11.0.4 just started aborting after most things I try. Like edit a layout or sort. I'm running on a Mac version 10.13.3. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm dead in the water.
Thank you for your post!
FileMaker Pro 11 was never tested to work with MacOS 10.13 High Sierra. In some cases older version (pre-14) will not even launch properly. You might see FileMaker Platform and MacOS High Sierra for further compatibility information with your Operating System. To see what environments were tested with FileMaker Pro 11, you might see FileMaker Pro Operating System Requirements.
I also moved this thread from the FileMaker Community Feedback Space (which is specifically for input on the Community itself) to the Discussions Space where you might receive more views and potentially more feedback on this topic!
If you have a search of the forum you will find countless threads about this. Basically your two options are:
1) Update FileMaker.
2) Roll back your Mac OS version to an older one.
Interest because I've been using FileMaker Pro ever since I updated to the latest version of Mac OS and had no issues until yesterday.
There are a few people who have said they've used old version of FMP on High Sierra with no problems but the general consensus is problems will eventually arise. Your version of FileMaker is now 8 years old so it may be time to upgrade
Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
I probably won't upgrade FileMaker Pro because of the cost.
I'll leave my Mac with the latest OS version.
It appears FileMaker Pro will run on my Mac but I can't make any database changes.
I have to bring one of my old Macs back into service.
As long as your data isn't critical because there are no guarantees running FileMaker on an unsupported OS
