I have a list view layout with a page number in a footer section. I want to hide the page number when the user is in browse mode.
Why isn't this command working in the "Hide object when" feature?
Get ( WIndowMode ) returns 0 for Browse mode
0 means "false" in Boolean expressions so your use of this function does the exact opposite of what you want. It will hide the object in every mode except Browse mode.
Get ( WindowMode ) = 0
Not Get ( WIndowMode )
Oh, my bad, I thought browse mode was returning "1".
If it had, it still wouldn't have worked since any non-zero value is "True" and the other modes return non-zero values.
In any case, using Get ( WindowMode ) without specifying which mode is really an incomplete Hide expression. By itself, Get ( WindowMode ) returns a value between 0 and 4. For an expression where you expect something to happen when a specific mode applies, you have to specify which value you want your system to respond to—as Phil says, Get ( WindowMode ) = 0. In other words you are saying to FM: if the result of this function is 0, hide the object.
Yeah, that make sense.
