I've been trying to wrap my head around this but just can't seem to get it right, or understand which way will prevent any issues late down the line.
I am trying to create a document register, which stores files relative to the database. Ie:
From the database, the user will be able to upload a document which is stored relative to the database, and can also then open the document from the container field (text, spreadsheet etc), edit it and then save changes back to the database.
Could someone also explain why this would be a bad idea:
Sorry, that's not correct. You still need a container field to "store" (not reallyI) it when referencing the file. It's just not uploaded to the server but remaining on your local storage ... and as written before: Avoid this feature as it is deprecated AND very very certain to cause problems.
Thanks so much in advance!
