I want to use constraint find the method to escape <<No access>> and I am trying to create the custom menu with a copy from Filemaker standard Menu.
When I do these Find Menu Items come inactive.
What should I do?
If you can include some screen shots of your Custom Menu Sets and Custom Menus, as well as of your Security settings for the Privilege Set in question, it will be easier to assist you.
FileMaker doesn't have a "Find" menu - can you show a screen shot of the menu you're referring to using the default menu set.
In actually I want to do authentication; I constraint layout data with the restricted record but <<No Access>> is very ugly. I am opening the layout in find mode but when we pressed the "show all records" button <<No Access>> come back.
I have to run "constraint found set" when we press the "show all record button".
I am very happy If there is a more simple way.
Yes, handling this properly is somehow more work than it should be. What I tend to do is have a subscript "constrain found set" which excludes records the user isn't allowed to see, and then I do scripted versions of all the actions that change the found set, and attached them to custom menu items: Show all records, Show omitted only, Perform find, Constrain Found Set, Extend Found Set (from memory - I may be forgetting one or two).
Definitely, I want to do like that but I have problem with custom menu.
What exactly is your the problem you're having with custom menus? Can you upload a sample file, and/or screen shots?
I think solved the problem. The problem was account permission. When I chose the "all" instead of "minimum" on "Available menu command" area in the privilege set section, everything is visible on the custom menu.
Thanks to your reply.
While you need do this for Show All Records and Show Omitted Only, you do not need to do so for perform Find, constrain, nor extend.
Filemaket automatically constrains the results of a Find to omit “no access” records.
