Is there a way to suppress the automatic opening of the launch center on FMP startup?
Launch (open) any file other than FM app.
You can also change FM short cut to open a file. e.g on Windows target of short cut is defined like as
"C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 16 Advanced\FileMaker Pro Advanced.exe"
then change it to
"C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 16 Advanced\FileMaker Pro Advanced.exe" "c:\your\file\path.fmp12"
Thanks. I am currently using FMP URLs to have clients open files. They do not want to see the launch center. It confuses them. Even after being provided a detail pdf on how to use it.
Sometimes they still open FMP and get the launch center and that is bad.
They much prefer setting a browser bookmark to open the files.
Maybe in the coming week or so I will have time to put together some of the emails I get from clients about the launch center and report it is an overall product issue.
Windows I suppose it can be managed to create a specific shortcut on install. I will have to see what is the best way for Mac. For now. FMP URLs are working.
Have you considered a SnapShot Link?

beverly I had not considered it, that would be similar to an FMP URL in usage.
I will look into it as the URLs have big issues with Chrome.
On the Mac side, what I've done is copied the URL to the desktop, apply their logo, and rename the link, but keeping the inetloc extension. Then they can place the file in their Documents folder (or elsewhere) and then drag it to the Dock so that it's always available. Key tip here is that when you distribute the shortcut, zip the file before transfer. For whatever reason, if you just send the link, it doesn't work on the next Mac.
