Inserting images into a container via script

Hello!  I have not posted questions here in a while, but I'm hoping this is an easy one.    I have a good way of bringing in batches of images into my database but sometimes they need adjustments.   So I've created a folder action and a quartz filter such that when a picture (.png) is put into the folder it is automatically made "brighter" via a tweak of exposure.

 

I set a variable ($filename) :   Value:  Get (Desktop_Path)  & "lighten_folder/"&datetimestamp& ".png"

 

Which allows me to export the picture into the folder where the quartz filter happens.

 

And my script has the following:

 

Export Field Contents [images::image1 ; $filename]

Go to Field [images::image1]

Insert Picture ["$filename]

 

But I get the following message: 

 

The file "datetimestamp.png" could not be found and is required to complete this operation.

 

But the file is there. 

I've tried a pause of significant length at various stages and no luck.

 

What am I doing wrong?   All help welcome and thank you.
