Hi,

i Wonder what will be the best approach to have some statistics that will not burden the calculation time too much.

i have a m:n table-relation and i Want to see statistics of m‘s shown in a portal of its n‘s while there are different figures to show as there are different kind of m:n-relations.

like:

brands (m) that at sold in shops (n) while the shop types (brick and mortar, online, mixed) or shop locations (in which state, in which country) shall be calculated in lets say 10 key figures about the brand.

like:

a company owns x brands. A portal shows them. In each portal row I also want to show figures like

- how many shops do sell the brand

- how many national

- how many international

- how many (per each type of shops)

etc.

what keeps the calculation down the best? Any suggestions on different ways to achievE this?

Try it first with "unstored" calculations

If too slow, you can then set ( and store ) the calculation results in various number fields ( sub-totals ), perhaps with a loop script that runs over night

Showing Totals of the "stored" results will be much faster
