I have an existing database that I use for charting monthly bills. Can anyone help me solve the solution of getting a total summary of EACH bill paid BY YEAR. In my database I have a layout for EACH BILL and it shows monthly payments and a TOTAL PAID TO DATE. That's fine, but now I need to break it out BY YEAR. I created another table, but I having trouble solving the relationships. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm still a novice at this, but I use this daily. Thanks again for any help given.

For a standard summary report, neither an added table nor relationships are needed.

You just need a sub summary part "when sorted by" year or possibly a find that specifies all dates in a given year (if you want a report solely for invoices for a given year.)

If you don't have such a calculation field, a field defined as Year ( Invoice Date ) with a number result type would be useful for such a report as you can then use this field as your "sorted by" field for your sub summary part. (You'd place any summary fields that you want into this sub summary part and they will then compute values based on all records for the same year.)
