Oracle is now pushing faster release cycles for Java.

A case in point, Java 9, out for a few months (since 2017-09-21), is no longer getting further updates. Although Java 9 was a large release with huge changes in multiple areas, most notably with modules, Java 10 appears to have fewer changes. The largest change in Java 10 appears to be implicit variable type determination (where you don't need to specify a variable's 'type' explicitly).

Hopefully, the next FMS release will have full support for Java 10 (and coming soon to a computer near you....Java 11).
