I'd like to create a conditional formatting calculation that is if a field is not empty, it gets colored red. How would i do the calculation?
not IsEmpty ( self )
For a number field you could even simply use
Number value 0 is taken as empty if you use only self...
I wonder there is no such condition in the list
but you can use empty as condition, invert coloring as default is red.
If the field is a number field, Create a calculation as shown in the screen shot. You can also try IsEmpty(Self).
I commented on "even simply" part of the post. First part
would work well on OP's requirement.
Your suggestion also would work but for limited case, and the logic looks inverted. OP need condition for "not empty". Yours may be used in "empty or 0 (or negative)". If so, <=0 could be better than < .01. The number .01 arize question why isn't it .1 nor .001 etc.
I agree with doing the opposite way as user19752 suggested. Make the default colour red and use an If empty conditional to colour it white
This is the one I used and it’s perfect thanks!! It’s a text field so it was easy like this. I’m so not good at calculations. I’ve been practicing them but they don’t come naturally to me.
Thanks to all of you for your help!!
