I get a file not found message for a database record with a container field. The actual path of the file is identical to the path described in the display of the database record. Why is this happening?

my database was created under Filemaker Pro 11. I have upgraded to High Sierra and Filemaker Pro 16. The identical file path to the objects contained in the containers is being used. Now, when I open the database, the records display with a file not found message for the file name. The database was created with parameters specifying external storage of the images. It worked under 11, but does not work under 16. I cannot repeat running under 11 because 11 abends under High Sierra.

How can I regain access to the externally stored images? If that is not possible, is it possible to embed the images into the database?

Thanks
