Summary fields

I have a table for testing student (6-18 years old).

The fields of the Table are basically divided in 3 categories:

- data-entry fields

- calculated fields

- statistical fields (summary fields).

For statistical reasons (and publication of articles) there are so many Summary fields (each value of each test gets a Summary field for Minimum, Average, Maximum and Standard Deviation) producing a table with over 1000 fields. Summary fields are used because they produce results that can be user-filtered on age, age groups, gender, grade, etc.

Is it considered "adeguate" having so many fields in the Table ?

Is there an other way to move all the statistical fields in an other table maintaining the possibility of filtering their values accordingly with needs ?

Many Thanks,

Victor
