After a bit of advice, please. I have a FileMaker solution which has customers addresses in it, we deliver products to these customers, at the minute I have a drop down on each customer record to say which area there address falls in, however I would now like to move this to an automated system which depending on the postcode (UK) dictates which area that customer falls into.
So far I've thought of having another table which contains the start of each postcode e.g. ST17, ST18 etc. and then each one has the area named assigned to it. The area number/name would then be shown on the customer record depending on the postcode. This would then give us the ability to move postcodes into a different area.
ST17 Area 1
ST18 Area 1
LN54 Area 2
What would be the best way to go about this?
