how to display an image using xml cwp in Web Viewer Mac & Windows

I am trying to display an image from a container field in a web viewer using XML Custom Web Publishing.

FileMaker Pro 16.0.4 - Windows. FileMaker Pro 16.0.5 macOS

the url looks like this:

https://MY.SERVER.NAME/fmi/xml/cnt/data.jpg?-db=FILENAME&-lay=LAYOUTNAME&-field=image(1)&-recid=NUMBER

fmxml privileges are set-up.

This works in Windows after entering a username & password

This does not work in macOS - no username & password is requested by the web viewer so I get a HTTP Status 401 error in the web viewer.

How can I authenticate the user for xml cwp inside a FileMaker web viewer so the user is not asked for a password? - Is this possible?

I actually want to use this as the img source in html in the webviewer, so maybe there is a better way to do this? Something like this:

<img src="https://MY.SERVER.NAME/fmi/xml/cnt/data.jpg?-db=FILENAME&-lay=LAYOUTNAMR&-field=image(1)&-recid=NUMBER">
