Is there a way to use Key combination to commit record ? something like using Ctrl + f10, or whatever.
I don't want to use the way filemaker committing record
You can set up a custom menu script with an assigned keyboard short cut to perform a script that commits the record. (Requires FileMaker Advanced to create the custom menu.)
You can use either OnLayoutKeystroke or OnObjectKeystroke to perform a script. Such a script can use:
Get ( Triggerkeystroke )
Get ( TriggerModifyKeys )
To determine what keys were down when the trigger was tripped. Note that the Code function can be used to take the character returned by the first function to more easily identify which key was pressed (such as a return or enter keystroke).
But this will not keep FileMaker from committing records as it is designed to do. You've just added additional ways to commit the record.
To change "how fileMaker commits a record" to prevent that would take additional design work on each layout where you want to make such a change.
