I've been using FileMaker for many years (since version 7), and consider myself an intermediate-level user. I keep running into a problem for which there has to be a simple solution. I share my database "solution" with a number of my colleagues, many of whom are not very skilled with FileMaker. I want to be able to set some program parameters in a manner that would allow them to survive cloning. The easiest, most logical method I can think of is to put parameters into a Custom-values value-list, since that survives cloning. It is easy to read that list and obtain the parameters, and set them to global variables. However, I cannot find a way to have a script write to a custom-value value-list (to add/replace values to a custom-value value-list).
As a related question, is there any way to have a script change the text in a text object (such as a field label)?
