In Filemaker Go with the Get(HostName) I get the device name but in my project I need to change the Device name sometime, is there someone who know how do it ?
You would change the name of the device (hosted or local). Why change the name?
It's the iPad name I need to change.
We have an application to manage work and for the spare iPad we need to update the iPad Name for the right one for the Craftman
Can you send a screen shot? The iPad name is set in the iOS Settings > General > About, but I'm not sure this is what you're after.
I'm also wondering why you want to do this and I suspect that there may be a better approach using Get ( PersistentID ), with a table in your solution that maps the Persistent ID to a "name" that you specify (and can change at any time) in FileMaker.
You're at right place in the picture you have "Nom" who is name of device.[image1.png]

Thanks for the screen shot. Yes, where is shows "Nom" - that is where you can touch the > and change the name.
So can we modify it by script?

Not that I'm aware of, that's iOS level value. FMP can read it, but it wouldn't be able to change it, the user would have to do that.
Can you explain the scenario in greater detail and what you are trying to accomplish? I'm guessing here, but if you're trying to change access or track who is using a device, set up security and require that the user logs in. That way you can control access and track who did what.
